We probably sound like a bit of a broken record at this point with our Swell Brewing reviews. The brewery has been going from strength to strength with their limited releases, each bringing something delicious to the table as well as their packaging taking on a colourful twist and the addition of beer names. Consider us fans.

‘Corduroy Lines’ to non surfing people (me) revives memories of brown pants most commonly seen filling the racks of the local country second hand store. Resigned to an existence as a costume purchase rather than the clothing of choice. Here, it’s a reference to the perfect lines in the ocean stretching back from a surf beach to the horizon. Sunset in the background, bliss.

Beautiful hazy off gold in colour, almost mimicking the colour of the can perfectly. Citrus just dominates the aromas. Grapefruit, a really lovely, almost spritzy lime and a touch of pineapple. The palate is much the same. A bunch of pithy orange citrus and passion fruit joins in, only enhancing the fantastic mouthfeel that the malt brings to the party. That citrus shines even more at this point. Shining nicely alongside a well integrated bitterness. Enough to give the back end a bit of excitement but juice lovers aren’t going to be turned off of it either.

With their mid-strength safely tucked into the fridge for a review very soon we are please to announce that the upward trajectory in the quality of these limited releases from Swell has continued.
